Facility Overview

The Palomar Sportsmen's Club has been a part of Southern California's history even before World War II.
Incorporated in 1954 as a Non Profit Corporation in Ramona, California by local sportsmen and conservationist, the Club relocated in 1994 to its present location in the high Desert Mountains of Ranchita in Eastern San Diego County.

The Club owned, forty-acre facility is always changing and improving with the needs of our sport and members. Located at 5000 feet, the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are spectacular.
Occasional light winter snow offers members a unique atmosphere not found in Southern California's shooting ranges.

Families can enjoy the outdoors in privacy with gated access. Our many camping spaces, with picnic tables and outdoor fireplaces, offer views and easy access to all of our ranges and amenities.

A 250yard Rifle Range with a paved firing line provides flexible-shooting stations for high power, small bore and black powder rifles.
The newly remodeled rifle range building houses a variety of target options and safety gear. Range markers indicate 25-yard increments for easy target placement and sighting in.
The open Pistol Ranges offer distances up to 35 yards and any handgun and carbine caliber's can be used. Range markers indicate 5 yard increments for easy target placement and sighting in.
The roominess offers shooters ample space and is great for a variety of competitions and matches.
The Shotgun Sports Range challenges shooters with constant visual changes in the background. This shotgun only range has room for Sporting Clays and Trap. Currently the PSC Sporting Clays Tower is used for events.
The Archery Range offers several target bails and as developed will offer a variety of 3-D targets and challenges.

The Clubhouse, with restrooms and showers, offers members a space to overnight and cooking areas are available. A sign in log and information board update members and guests on current events and information.
The Classroom/ Meeting Room is easily accessible for instruction, seminars and a variety of general and committee meetings.
The Playground area offers a climbing structure and various other items children can enjoy at our Club. Two regulation horseshoe pits are great for the whole family.

The facility offers many picnic areas throughout and all offer majestic views.
PSC has our own infrastructure with a private well and power. Our 1956 International Fire Truck has many uses.
